Danny Pravder is pianist and composer whose professional demeanor, excellent musicianship and positive work ethic have made him one of the most sought after young pianists in Los Angeles.
Danny's professional career started very young. At just 16 years old, Danny won grand prize in a national jazz piano competition, and was the recipient of the Young Emerging Artist Scholarship in honor of legendary jazz pianist Dave Brubeck.
After recieving this award, Brubeck wrote about Danny:
"At an early age he has “done it all” - that is, studied classical piano as well as jazz, composed and recorded original music, played in various styles from jazz to show tunes to alternative rock; and what I admire most of all, he has shared that talent with others by performing for the elderly, teaching younger children, and participating in all kinds of musical activities in his school. I can’t imagine a more deserving recipient of the Brubeck scholarship." – Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award Winner, Dave Brubeck
After being presented this award at a Diana Ross performance, Danny became the gala pianist for the Palace Theatre, playing for gala events featuring performances by Grammy Winners Liza Minnelli, Edie Brickell & Steve Martin.
Upon graduation from Skidmore College in 2016, Danny was invited to Capitol Records to work as a session pianist and composer for Grammy Award Winning Rapper Kid Cudi. His piano playing and composition work is featured on two tracks, "Does It" and the ending of "Releaser."
Shortly after the album was released, Danny was invited to perform with Kid Cudi on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. This performance includes a featured, original piano solo at 3:30.
In addition to studio work and live performance, Danny has had remarkable success in Hollywood as a pianist for film and television. He was recently featured as a guest pianist on HBO's Big Little Lies, Season Two. This past holiday season, Danny was invited to collaborate with Will and Grace star Megan Mullally on a jazz piano and vocal duet to promote the upcoming SAG awards. The commercial is scheduled to run on TNT and TBS.
